Vintage Bloom

Recently went to a vintage apothecary (suggested to me by a friend), and it was one of those places that is so lovely that you're scared to touch anything (so many pretty dresses, and I was terrified to pick any of them off the rails incase I ripped them >.< ) Anyways, after talking with the shopkeeper, I picked a dress off the rail and went to try it on (I was also handed a petticoat to try it on with). When I walked out of the changing rooms, there were about 8 people in the shop. Every one of them stared at me and said how pretty I was. ( ) I certainly wasn't expecting that, and I seriously loved that dress; it fit really well, was a mix of 2 of my favourite colours, patterned, and I loved wearing it! However, the chances are that I will never own it, or get the chance to try it on again, because the price is a bit......steep....£99 for the dress, and £59 for the petticoat (whcih is kind of required for it to look right) Parents don't want to pay that much (I don't blame them), and I seriously can't afford it. (It's been suggested that I raise the money for it myself, but I don't see how I could get enough money in enough time T.T )

When something like this happens, I'll draw the outfit, and make it look as gorgeous as possible so I can remember what it looked like and how I felt wearing it. I also got a sneaky photo of myself wearing it in the changing room - I know I shouldn't have, but still.... >.<

Btw, the pattern on the dress was a mix of black spots, small yellow flowers, strawberries and cherries - I didn't have any of the fruit as a pattern brush, so I just used a starburst pattern instead - it still looks pretty
