Venellope Lolly-ta

Haha; 'lolly-ta', get it? Because Lolita sounds like lolly and it's a pun and....yeah *crawls away*

So in March, myself and HAM Japan are going to be selling at a convention, and while thinking about what prints to possibly make, I thought back to MCM. At MCM, 'Avengers' had just been released in the UK, so there was Avengers fanart and Avengers cosplayers everywhere! (and so many Loki's......so....SO many Loki's....) It was the latest fandom to hit, and it was easily the one that made the most money at that convention (and every other one in 2012) Then I thought 'how can I use that? While Avengers is still seriously popular, it's not the latest thing - so what can I use?' The answer? WRECK-IT RALPH! With all those game settings and cameos (including some really retro ones), it's pretty difficult for it not to make an impact with geeks (I know that some anime friends of mine have been to see it, some want to see it, and HAM Japan are invading the cinema tomorrow to go see it)

Because I really like drawing frills and bows and long hair etc., the most logical choice for me to draw was Venellope (plus she is pretty much a 3D chibi - what's not for me to love?!) I decided to make her a lolita, even though I don't think it reflects her character that much. Because of that, I asked my dear Twin (who is a lolita) fotr help, and she suggested making her a 'Decora' lolita. Which basicaly means hair accesories through the roof and a little more relaxed (ie. quite a few wear hoodies, which suites Venellope since she does wear one) Thus, she has ice cream sauce in her hair, sprinkles, bon bons, ice cream cones, red vines and a couple of toffee wrappers! And a big sugary rainbow strip!
